Maggie Parfitt is an archaeologist, living historian, and museum professional.

She is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Historical Archaeology at UMass Boston. She graduated from SUNY Geneseo in 2021 with her bachelor’s degree in Anthropology, concentrated in Archaeology. Through her work in living history, she’s developed a strong interest in dress and personal adornment as related to questions of Early American colonization and identity making.

In her research and public history programs she seeks to place often lesser known stories of women in historical context. As a social historian she seeks to bring the context of larger events down to the individual level, reconciling broader cultural themes with individual agency. Some of her specific interests include the urban poor in Early America, and the WAVES in World War II.
